How I love the ornamental cherry tree in our front yard.
In the springtime, its blossoms are bountiful.
Beauty!
In winter, its branches bend as snow falls.
Beauty!
In summer, its leaves invite all to experience its shade.
Beauty!
In autumn as it sheds its colourful leaves on the gentle winding stone path,
Mother Nature creates a beautiful and welcoming Leaf Carpet.
Beauty!
In every season, the cherry tree is beautiful!
It brings a gentle reminder.
Whether we are in the
spring
summer
fall
winter of our lives,
we are beautiful, too.

Dear June…thank you for sharing this meaningful reverie.
Often I feel pensive in the fall, as the trees bow and shed their shade-giving leaves. Things become barren as winter approaches. The “bare bones” of trees and life becomes revealed. I think of lost loved ones…I think of how another season of life has come and gone, and I am reminded of our mortality and the brevity of life. But with the falling of the leaves, I am also reminded that as they decompose, they return to give their secrets and nutrients to the earth. And the spring bulbs receive those nutrients and whisper the secrets as they drift off to sleep for just a short time. The secrets and truths are never lost, and they bear witness to them in a glorious riot of colour and life next spring.
So true…whatever season of life we are in, we are beautiful, life is beautiful, even as we are entering the autumn of our own lives.
Thanks for your thoughtful reflection, June. It really resonated with me today.
